For quite some time now we have been discussing just how much we wanted to re-do the shop! Did we want a total make over or just a face lift? ( isn't that always the question? )
Anyway...like all modest Southern women we started out small...we are just spackling away and re-painting and there are absolutely no nail holes to been seen anywhere!! It's glorious! And while we are at it...we are hanging slatwalls so that we don't ever have to nail again!! ( well...not as much anyway!)
My real dream came true when I was able to aquire these fabulous french shutters in the most wonderful shades of faded blue-gray-to almost lavender in places! Yes...the paint is peeling...the hardware is rusty but they cover up alot of "blemishes" in my huge wall in the back of the shop!! If any of you are reading too much into this analogy I can assure you that my hair color will NEVER resemble these shutters!! However...I love the new feel they add to the shop...it's something I've longed for for a long time!
We will keep you posted as we are almost completely done...just replacing a small section of hardwoods....no analogy there!!! But for all of the blemishes we are covering up in the re-do...I hope we have them again ten fold! That would only mean success in my eyes and hopefully in the eyes of the beholder! Stop in and check it out!!! We look pretty spectacular even in the midst of remodeling!
Shutters are so charming. And the more faded, worn they are to me, the more beautiful they are...case in point above.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, it looks great! Love what you have done.
