The Unexpected

When I am blessed to open up my mailbox and there sit's not only my copies of Southern Living, Coastal Living, In Style, etc…but also Traditional Home! What could be better?
Needless to say…I waited for the perfect, quiet moment to devour it…I thought it would've happened much earlier in the weekend than it did mind you! But nonetheless…it finally happened!
What a joy to see a home that someone built out of love…not conforming to the "norm" but rather following her heart's instincts and building what she knew she would love!
Normally, we see beach homes built to suit our beach needs..and that is Fabulous! Just like this home in Coastal Living…

But I've said it before and I will say it again…Never Settle! You will not be satisfied! Always wait..always hold out until you can build or add on as you really want to! If you don't, you will always be sorry and you will always waste money because in the end you won't be happy and you will be re-doing it to make into what you wanted to be in the first place!
There was no "settling" with this gorgeous Tudor style home in the Hampton's! I think it's stunning! I hope you do as well!

With the help of designer Jack Fhiplips , Gloria Kirschner built the home of her dreams without conforming to the norm, but rather building something that she would never get tired of!

Thank You, Traditional Home for showing us something new, real and different! It's truly spectacular!
Hope you have a wonderful week and that you don't settle for anything less!

  5. I love it when people dare to be different - and it probably took extra guts in a "climate" such as the Hamptons. Thanks for sharing! Thanks also for your sweet comments!

  7. Carolyn,
I'm like you....it's like a red letter day when the postman brings me not 1, but several of my favorite shelter mags. I especially enjoyed this month's Southern Living. So many great recipes I'm dying to try!!!

    Happy day!
