One Wild Crazy Shindig

So, I had this wonderful post planned showing yall different items that are currently in Traditional Home and Veranda that we have in the shop today, but that will simply have to wait.

'Cause you see this girl is first and foremost a lover of food.  And its not a quiet love, its a tell all your friends, plan all activities around it sort of love.

For a few weeks now, we've been hearing a lot of buzz about the Shindigs Catering Food Truck, and today was the day that we were going to set out to find this truck.  So just after noon we went, cash in hand, to find out if that Short Rib Sandwich is really as good as everyone gushes.

IT IS!

You simply must go- and for goodness sake try the Truffle Fries with their N2F (whatever that is) Sauce!  

Where is this place?   Follow them on Twitter to see where they are going to be each day, but if you don't see them on the street corner as promised, check again- they'll tweet if they move!

BH&G is so quick to celebrate local designers and giving voice to Birmingham's talent that we are thrilled to be celebrating them this month!  We love getting to work with them in advertising, inputting in articles, and in the upcoming Inspiration Home.  Its always a treat to see Sheila around town and in the shop, and today we celebrate them!

Time to Party

We are so excited to be hosting our artist Emyo and our potter Caroline for a party this Thursday!  They will be here to show off some of their latest works, and we will have light hor dourves and wine to enjoy the afternoon with!

We Like Sheep

...And Hydrangeas.  And Mississippi.  And Emyo!

So the squeals you heard coming from Canterbury Lane yesterday were, well, our fault.  We just couldn't stand how fabulous our new Emyo's were!  We pulled them straight out of bubble wrap and into the scene for some upcoming photo shoots - we can't tell you which ones just yet :)

I mean come on! What southern belle wouldn't love this hanging in her home?  This work, Hydrangeas on Silver, is classic Emyo.  The colors and textures bring these flowers to life!

We Like Sheep and we love the unexpected use of color in this field.  This is such a perfect way to bring nature into your home in an unexpected way! 

Oh heavens, this is gorgeous! I think I've saved the best for last - a barn sitting on a cotton filed!  She takes us right into the heart of Mississippi with this colorful work!

We are so excited for our event at the end of August with Emyo herself! Go ahead and mark your calendars for a trip to Birmingham on August 25th!

The New Face at Mulberry

Mulberry Heights is so excited to introduce y'all to the newest member of our team, Miss Ellen Hill.  Born and raised in Atlanta, Ellen studied Interior Design & Art at Samford and spent the past year working in corporate design.  Ellen is thrilled to be able to bring her love of art history & southern culture to Mulberry Heights.  Her passion for design is driven by the hopes of creating a warm and inviting space for each client that comes to our shop. 

Already, she has added to our social media presence and helps as we continually update our store.  We are excited to see where this new adventure will take us, and we know you'll just love her too!
